Who Are We?
The Rose Hostel was founded by Jean Paul Busuttil in November 2021 after inheriting the property which he grew up in from his great aunt, Auntie Rose, to whom he dedicated the name “The Rose” after her passing. Auntie Rose was a warm and welcoming person, a gentle soul who was respected by everyone in the community.
The property is one of the medieval properties of Malta. It was built approximately 450 years ago by the order of the Dominican Friars as one of their main convents in Malta. Over the centuries it stopped being used as a convent as was taken over by an Italian noble family who operated their shipping ferries to Italy and north Africa from St Julian’s.
Just about the turn of the 20th century the Noble family encountered financial difficulties and decided to sell off parts of their property, this is the time when the Busuttil family became the owners of the property which is known today as The Rose Hostel.
Since then, 5 generations of Jean Paul Busuttil’s family have lived in this property until the decision was taken to convert the property into a hostel to share the warmth of a home to travellers visiting from all around the world immortalising the legacy of the family.

Comfy, big beds with curtains, lockers to which you get keys, everyday cleaning, air conditioning in rooms. Every room has its bathroom but there's another outside the room if you need it.
There's a kitchen, a dining room on the bottom floor, generally everything you need:)
The staff was very kind and helpful, they even let us leave the bags and use the bathroom after our checkout.
Oh, and the localization was really good, near was the bus stop with buses to basically everywhere, supermarket, Costa, McDonald's:)

"It was an Awesome experience staying in The Rose hostel!
The location of The Rose hostel is awesome. its located at the city centre, near shopping malls, bus stops and most especially is not far from Paceville where all the clubs are located if you want to taste the night life in Malta.
The staffs were very hospitable and accommodating, it has super fast internet and last but not the least it do has some level of privacy."
